Community Helpers

We are continuing to explore the roles of Community Helpers.  We have had a visit from Firefighter Glenn and Firefighter Rob.  They shared with us their “love” of helping others and keeping us safe.  Firefighter Rob told us that he knew when he was a little boy that he wanted to be a firefighter.  We giggled as Firefighter Glenn showed us his firefighting gear and how he puts it on!   The firefighters plan to cook a Pancake Breakfast for all of us!  We learned that firefighters like to “give back” to their community by helping out at events.  Firefighter Rob and Firefighter Glenn want us to ensure that we have working smoke alarms in our homes. They shared their safety tips with us,

• have a working smoke alarm

• stay low and get outside

stop, drop, and roll– cover your face with your hands

Thank you to Firefighter Rob and Firefighter Glenn for all that you do to help us at school and in the community!  Thank you to our student teacher for arranging this important event!

Do you have a working smoke alarm at your house?

Do you ever dream about what you might become when you grow up?
