I often struggle with simplifying the holiday season and zooming in on what are the most important activities, qualities, or “gems” we can leave with our children. The hustle and bustle of shopping, new apps, games, electronics, toys, parties, commitments, can create a frenzied rush. If we are not careful, we miss the precious opportunities to create simple, yet beautiful memories. I remind myself that simple is always “best.” Spying beautifully shaped pinecones on the side of the road, I gathered up a few. I plan to spend some quality time with my family, applying glue and yes, glitter! A simple, pretty, beautiful way to “get festive” and hopefully make meaningful holiday memories. Try this activity with your children and share in the true spirit of the season; giving time, love, and positive attention to those we cherish.
